Learn about a variety of research that is progressing at the Health Science Center when you attend Core Day, Tuesday, Oct. 25 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the Medical School lecture hall foyer.
Sponsored by the office of the vice president for research, Core Day will consist of poster displays contributed by each of the institutional core research facilities, as well as related research support departments.
“Core Day will be an opportunity for the research community at the Health Science Center to find out about the services and facilities on campus, and how these groups might assist active research programs,” said Victoria Frohlich, Ph.D., associate director of the core optical imaging facility and director of institutional research cores.
Individuals from the core facilities and research support departments will be present to answer questions related to their activities. Although this is the first year Core Day will occur, it is hoped to become an annual event.
“It is designed for researchers to educate the community about their research and what they do,” said Catherine Nail, administrative assistant in the office of the vice president for research. “It will benefit students, researchers, faculty and staff, and will serve to show the campus what is going on in various arenas of research.”
All are encouraged to attend.
