After 54 years of practicing medicine, Leonard G. Paul, M.D., professor and chairman emeritus, retired from the Health Science Center’s department of family and community medicine on Sept. 1.
“Not too many people can honestly say that they enjoyed every day of their profession,” Dr. Paul told President Francisco G. Cigarroa, M.D. “I am a very lucky man.”
In honor of Dr. Paul’s contributions to medicine and the Health Science Center, Dr. Cigarroa presented Dr. Paul with a certificate. It reads:
“In recognition of more than two decades of dedication to the Department of Family and Community Medicine, to the San Antonio community, and to excellence in medical service, The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio proudly honors Leonard G. Paul, M.D., Professor and Chair Emeritus.”
“Medicine has been my life,” Dr. Paul said. “But, now I will enjoy other things. My wife, Nancy, and our dogs are first on my list.”
