Eileen M. Kleffner, academic coordinator in the department of surgery, comes to work each day with a smile on her face and a positive attitude. With her constant willingness to help others, it’s no wonder that in October she was named the Department of Surgery Employee of the Month.
She began her career at the Health Science Center as an administrative secretary and five months ago she was named residency academic coordinator in the division of education.
“Eileen’s commitment to what she does is what makes her such a great person to work with,” a nomination form said. “And, the innovative ideas she has are very helpful in advancing our programs.”
Kleffner was presented with a $100 Simon Gift Card that can be used anywhere VISA is accepted. Congratulations to her.
The overall goal of the Employee of the Month and Year program is to recognize outstanding performance by non-faculty staff in surgery. Employees who receive the awards have exemplified exceptional levels of work performance and displayed high regard and loyalty. The department of surgery recognizes that its staff plays a significant role in determining the success of the department.
