For five years Reggie Cribbs, a vascular technologist in the division of vascular surgery, has brought a warm personality to the department of surgery. Colleagues enjoy working with him so much that in November they selected him as surgery’s Employee of the Month.

“Reggie has such a deep compassion for patients,” a person who nominated him said. “Most often, the patient is very sick, anxious and not well informed. But, Reggie will seek a common interest with the patient – such as sports, travel or family – and talk about it. Soon the patient is smiling and at ease. This helps tremendously with the test results, as well.”

Cribbs received a $100 Simon Gift Card that can be used anywhere that VISA is accepted.

The department of surgery recognizes that its staff plays a significant role in determining the success of the department. Qualities such as reliability, initiative, adaptability, creativity and a good attitude are imperative to having a positive working environment.

Congratulations to Cribbs and all nominees for going the extra mile.
