Attention faculty members! Interested in applying for promotion and tenure? Because the promotion and tenure process can be a bit overwhelming at times, a coalition of faculty organizations and the office of the vice president for academic administration will host two workshops designed to support and guide junior faculty members through the process.
Health Science Center senior faculty members will lead small-group, round-table discussions that will focus on the different areas of emphasis considered by the Faculty Promotions, Tenure and Appointments Committee (PTAC).
Presentations by Theresa Chiang, Ed.D., vice president for academic administration; Jan Patterson, M.D., professor and vice chair of infectious diseases; and Lee McAlister-Henn, Ph.D., professor and deputy chair of biochemistry, will provide updates on the promotion and tenure process. Drs. Patterson and McAlister-Henn are chair and past chair, respectively, of the PTAC. Their additional insights will be beneficial to both tenure and non-tenure track faculty members.
The Jan. 20 workshop is for members of the non-tenure track faculty and the Feb. 3 workshop is for members on the tenure track. Both workshops will be held from noon to 2 p.m. in the School of Nursing auditorium.
Desserts and drinks will be provided but attendees are invited to bring lunch.
