Whether it’s the border with Canada or the border with Mexico, border health is often a completely different ballgame. That’s why the U.S. Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) is rolling out a new border health Web site to help researchers, students and the public, and also why HRSA chose the Health Science Center’s Regional Academic Health Center (RAHC) Harlingen Campus as one of two sites where the Web site will be announced.
HRSA Administrator Elizabeth Duke, Ph.D., will be joined at a teleconference by representatives of the Health Science Center and the University of North Dakota School of Medicine and Health Sciences. The news conference starts at noon Thursday, Jan. 26, at the RAHC Medical Education Division, 2102 Treasure Hills Blvd., in Harlingen, and will be followed by a Web site demonstration at 12:30 p.m.
The new Web site will include pages on topics such as children, diabetes and tuberculosis; state pages with maps of border regions; and pages on federal activities, funding sources and grant writing.
