Congratulations to Vibhudutta Awasthi, Ph.D., assistant professor of radiology, for earning pharmacy’s highest credential in the practice of nuclear pharmacy. The Board of Pharmaceutical Specialties (BPS) designated him as a board certified nuclear pharmacist.
Earning and maintaining board certification in nuclear pharmacy is a rigorous process. Dr. Awasthi earned the designation for presenting a defined level of education and training, as well as knowledge and skills that are necessary to meet the public’s demand for pharmaceutical care.
“This is a wonderful achievement that opens new doors for Dr. Awasthi and the Health Science Center, as it facilitates our ever expanding research capabilities,” said Gerald Dodd III, M.D., professor and Stewart R. Reuter Distinguished Chair of the Department of Radiology.
Dr. Awasthi met all the eligibility requirements for certification, including advanced training in nuclear pharmacy and by passing the 200-item specialty certification exam.
Dr. Awasthi is one of 495 individuals to be designated a board certified nuclear pharmacist by the BPS.
