Campus Updates: Theresa Chiang, Ed.D., vice president for academic administration, provided the Senate with an update on various searches at the Health Science Center. In addition, she made comments on the recently distributed draft of the new strategic plan, including a request from the Senate to provide her with its response to the plan.
Faculty Senate to have special meeting to discuss UTHSCSA strategic plan:The draft of the strategic plan has been distributed to the faculty-at-large by Margaret Brackley, Ph.D., chair of the Faculty Senate. Senators agreed that a special meeting of the Faculty Senate should be called in order to have needed discussion and to allow incorporation of comments obtained from the faculty-at-large into the Senate’s final position on the plan. The special meeting is scheduled for 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 22 in the Nursing School, Room 1.206.
Faculty Senate response to proposed space allocation plan:A resolution was drafted by the Faculty Senate that highlights concerns noted by both senators and members of the faculty-at-large with regard to the recently proposed space allocation policy. The Senate resolution has been forwarded to Brian Herman, Ph.D., vice president for research.
