The division of educational research and development (ERD) will sponsor a five-week course designed to provide health professions educators with tools for managing the performance and development of learners of different generations. The course will be conducted Thursdays from noon to 1 p.m. starting July 13, and continuing weekly through August 10.
Topics covered in this course will include generational differences, adult learning principles, purpose of evaluations, feedback and shaping behavior. The sessions will include the use of case-based instruction to guide participants through the discussion of generational issues.
Course instructors include Jennifer Peel, Ph.D., director of education in the office of graduate medical education, and David Henzi, Ed.D., educational development specialist in ERD.
