Summer is in full swing, and you are cordially invited to the Annual Health Science Center Picnic, sponsored by the office of the president and the Special Events Council (SEC). The picnic will be held Friday, July 7 in the Central Campus courtyard and the auditorium foyer from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Lunch will be catered by Bill Miller Bar-B-Q and food serving begins at 11:30 a.m. There are a limited number of veggie plates available to those who prefer them. But don’t forget your UTHSCSA ID badge! It’s required. DJ Ernest Calderon will entertain the crowd with a variety of music.
To employees and students of the South Texas campuses: Although we know that our South Texas campuses hold similar events for employees and students, we want you to know you are included in this invitation, as well. Please join us if you are able to be in San Antonio.
Don’t forget about the traditional Cake Walk! The game is back by popular demand. And please pick up your cool and refreshing Blue Bell Ice Cream treat.
Both the Cake Walk game and ice cream will be located in the auditorium foyer.
Volunteers and cakes are still needed for the cake walk. If you are interested please respond to the SEC mailbox,
sec@uthscsa.edu. Make sure the word “Picnic” is in the subject line.
A door prize drawing will be held in addition to the other festivities. Here is how you can get involved:
• Pickup your entry form at the door prize table.
• Select guest vendors to visit and have each vendor stamp a square on the form.
• Return the completed and stamped entry form to the door prize table.
• An SEC member will notify winners the following week, telling the winners when and where to pickup their prizes. You don’t need to be present to win.
**An additional prize drawing will be held for those who volunteer a shift or make a donation to the Cake Walk!**
