President Francisco G. Cigarroa, M.D., invites faculty, staff and students to a Town Hall meeting, to be held at 5 p.m. Monday, Aug. 28, in Room 3.102 at the Central Campus. The meeting will give the campus community the opportunity to discuss and learn more about the Health Science Center’s Strategic Plan.
All faculty staff and students are encouraged to submit questions about the plan. E-mail your questions to
UTHSCSApres@uthscsa.edu. Because of the length of time of the Town Hall meeting and the length of the document, only selected questions
submitted by Tuesday, Aug. 22 will be addressed.
The Laredo, Harlingen, Edinburg and Texas Research Park campuses will also have the opportunity to view the meeting via video-conferencing.
“I encourage everyone to read the Health Science Center’s Strategic Plan, as it will affect each person in a different way,” Dr. Cigarroa said. “Members of the Health Science Center’s executive leadership team and I welcome any questions about the plan so that we may provide our faculty, staff and students with a better understanding of this pertinent information.”
The Strategic Plan focuses on the primary role of the Health Science Center, which is to:
• educate diverse health care providers;
• engage in biomedical and clinical research to improve human health;
• provide state-of-the-art clinical care;
• enhance community health awareness and practices; and
• address health disparities.
