Department of Surgery honors its dedicated employeesWilliam “Niel” Brown, vascular technologist in the surgery department, and Jeni Wilson, clinical nurse specialist in the trauma division, were recently recognized as the surgery department’s June and July Employees of the Month.
Brown, honored in June, is a model employee who possesses exceptional characteristics, his colleagues said. He recently partnered with Maureen Sheehan, M.D., assistant professor of surgery, to perform endovenous laser therapy (EVLT), a leading laser treatment for varicose veins, in the clinical setting. He is the technologist who offered to commit time for additional training to assist Dr. Sheehan in EVLT and he plays an integral part in this new endeavor.
Wilson, honored in July, is considered a role model to her colleagues, as she demonstrates exceptional knowledge, skills and morals. Although she holds a heavy work load, she still finds time to mentor nursing students and assists residents. Her colleagues say her positive attitude and enthusiasm are infectious.
Thanks to Brown and Wilson for their dedication!
