The Special Events Council’s (SEC) annual Acadiana Luncheon was once again a great success. A record-breaking amount of $2,000 was raised for the Health Science Center’s State Employee Charitable Campaign (SECC). Proceeds will be donated to the following organizations:
• The Battered Women and Children’s Shelter of San Antonio
• Special Olympics
• The American Heart Association, Texas affiliate
• The San Antonio Food Bank
“We are so proud of all of the SECC representatives for selling luncheon tickets,” said Mary Yanes, SEC chair. “It shows that dedication can really make a difference in the lives of others.”
Last year, the SEC raised approximately $1,700 and all proceeds were donated to the American Red Cross to benefit survivors of Hurricane Katrina.
