Attention faculty members! The office of the vice president for academic administration and a coalition of faculty organizations are offering you a chance to learn more about the tenure and promotion process. Three different workshops are designed to support and guide faculty through the process.
Health Science Center senior faculty members will lead small-group discussions that will focus on the different areas of emphasis considered by the Faculty Promotions, Tenure and Appointments Committee (PTAC).
Presentations by Theresa Chiang, Ed.D., vice president for academic administration; John Preece, D.D.S., professor in the department of dental diagnostic science; and Jan Patterson, M.D., professor and interim chair of the department of medicine, will provide additional insights into the promotion and tenure process.
The Jan. 25 workshop is for members of the non-tenure track faculty and the Feb. 2 workshop is for members on the tenure track. The Feb. 9 workshop is for all departmental and school PTAC chairs, and academic chairs. All workshops will be held from noon to 2 p.m. in the Academic Administration Building, Rooms 108, 110 and 112.
Desserts and drinks will be provided and attendees are invited to bring lunch.
