March of Dimes HealthWalks set for May 2 and May 4

The Health Science Center’s HealthWalk, to benefit the March of Dimes, will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 2, at the track. Texas Research Employees will hold their first HealthWalk at 10:30 a.m. on May 4.

Main campus HealthWalk
Employees who pay the $20 entry fee to run or walk two laps around the track will receive the official Health Science Center 2007 HealthWalk T-shirt. Those interested in contributing, but not participating in the walk, may also receive a T-shirt by contributing $20.

The Health Science Center HealthWalk provides a way for health professionals to raise money to support valuable research to prevent premature births. More than 500 Health Science Center employees participated last year.

There will be free refreshments and a first-place prize for the winning registered runner.

For more information, please contact Susan Torchia or 210-567-0540.

Texas Research Park HealthWalk
Health Science Center employees who work in the Texas Research Park should meet on the circle drive in front of the buildings at 10:30 a.m. May 4 to walk to Ensley Pavilion. Free pizza and drinks, provided through donations from vendors and Texas Research Park Foundation, will be available available.

There is no entry fee, but walk T-shirts will be sold for $10. Taco sale and chalupa sale fundraisers also will be held to raise money for the March of Dimes in the near future.
