Robin Froman, R.N., Ph.D., F.A.A.N., recently announced her plans to retire as dean of The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio School of Nursing. Dr. Froman intends to leave at the end of the year or when a new dean is appointed, said Francisco G. Cigarroa, M.D., president of the Health Science Center.
Dr. Froman came to the Health Science Center in January 2004 and the school has had many noteworthy accomplishments during her tenure. “She indicated to me that her years at the School of Nursing have been most fulfilling, and that it is because of personal and family reasons that she is making this decision,” Dr. Cigarroa said.
After receiving input from nursing faculty, staff and students, Dr. Cigarroa will appoint a search committee to recruit a new dean for the School of Nursing.
