Ivon Foster, Ph.D., has joined the Information Management and Services (IMS) management team at The University of Texas Health Science Center as assistant vice president of academic technology services.
Dr. Foster is responsible for academic informatics services and educational media resources. She also is responsible for providing enterprise technology support for the Health Science Center’s education and research missions, as well as multimedia support for all campuses.
Dr. Foster comes to the Health Science Center from Florida International University (FIU) where she served as the associate vice president for information technology (IT), including six months as the interim chief information officer. Prior to her work at FIU, Dr. Foster was the director of instructional media at the University of Southern Mississippi.
Dr. Foster brings a strong commitment to customer service and an excellent background in organizational development, with the goal of achieving more efficient services. Initially she will focus on the WebCT upgrade, enhancing the Health Science Center’s ability to develop online training, providing better IT co-ordination through governance for research activities and improving student IT support.
