The fall semester has already begun for some students at The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, while others will begin school toward the end of August.
The Dental School initiated the fall back-to-school ritual, opening classes on July 16 with 93 incoming students and 373 total students. The School of Medicine followed on July 30 with 220 students in the incoming class and 877 students overall.
The Graduate School of Biomedical Science will begin classes Aug. 20, with 63 students entering the basic science program, which includes biochemistry, cellular and structural biology, microbiology and immunology, molecular medicine, pharmacology, physiology and radiological sciences. There are 290 students overall in the basic science program. Other graduate students are studying for advanced degrees through the Dental School and the schools of nursing and allied health sciences.

Both the School of Nursing and School of Allied Health Sciences will begin classes on Aug. 23. The School of Allied Health Sciences will have 206 incoming students this fall and about 575 attending classes overall. Meanwhile, the School of Nursing has 174 incoming students in its undergraduate and graduate programs.
