Representatives from Spectrum Athletic Club will be on campus periodically to offer reduced-price memberships for faculty and staff to the new Spectrum Athletic Club at the Medical Center, to be located on the UT Health Science Center campus.
Faculty, staff and students are invited to a groundbreaking ceremony to be held at noon on Thursday, Sept. 11, at the pavilion in the outdoor recreation area of the Long Campus. The new facility is being built there and is expected to be completed in spring 2009.
Faculty and staff will have a limited-time opportunity to enroll at the reduced monthly rate of $40 per month for an individual one-club membership. In addition to the discounted monthly dues, the faculty and staff will also have free enrollment and a reduced processing fee of $35. Additional access options and family add-on opportunities are also available.
This special enrollment for faculty is available through Dec. 31, before memberships are available to the public. After the introductory period, Spectrum will begin offering memberships to the general public, and faculty memberships purchased after Dec. 31 will be at the retail membership rate.
