SAN ANTONIO (April 20, 2009) — Health care providers and educators are invited to attend the 2009 Summer Institute on Evidence-Based Practice July 9-11 at the Crowne Plaza Riverwalk Hotel & Conference Center in San Antonio. Translational research focus of conference
“Given the UT Health Science Center’s growing interest in translational research, we are fortunate to have this excellent group of speakers here in San Antonio,” said Kathleen R. Preconference workshops
On Wednesday, July 8, the institute will offer three pre-conference workshops:
  • 8 a.m. – 3 p.m. — The Educators’ EBP Workshop® and the TeamSTEPPS Workshop
  • 3 – 6 p.m. — Basics of EBP
Continuing education credit is available for both conferences. For more information about the conferences or to register, visit the Academic Center for Evidence-Based Practice Web site or call (210) 567-1480.

Evidence-based practice (EBP) is an approach in which world literature is scanned for research findings, which are synthesized and packaged for clinical use. The School of Nursing established the ACE in 2000. It was the first such center in nursing.
