The four presidents of The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio will be honored at noon on Thursday, Nov. 5, at a Presidents’ Reception. The reception will be held in the Health Science Center Auditorium on the Joe R. and Teresa Lozano Long Campus.
All faculty, staff, students and retirees are invited to attend.
In addition to honoring the four presidents, the event will launch the newest chapter in the story of the Health Science Center under the leadership of President William L. Henrich, M.D., MACP, who was named president earlier this year.
The reception will also provide the opportunity to buy the brand new Health Science Center history book, “The Crown Jewel: The Story of the First 50 years of The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio.” The book, celebrating the Health Science Center’s first 50 years and three presidents, will be available for purchase for $28.
Honored at the celebration will be:
- President Frank Harrison, M.D., Ph.D., president from 1972 to 1985
- President John P. Howe III, M.D., president from 1985-2000
- President Francisco G. Cigarroa, M.D., president from 2000-2009, before being named in February chancellor of The University of Texas System
- President William L. Henrich, M.D., MACP, the newest Health Science Center president
