Colleen McHugh, chair of The University of Texas System Board of Regents, announced May 3 that Kyle Kalkwarf, a medical school student at the UT Health Science Center San Antonio, has been appointed the UT System’s new student regent.

Kalkwarf is the 2011 School of Medicine class president, an executive board member of the UT System Student Advisory Council and a member of the Health Science Center's Dean's Committee for the Medical School Accreditation.
