Even though temperatures are beginning to drop and there was significant rain over the weekend, it still seems hard to imagine that the UT Health Science Center could be closed due to snow or ice over the winter ó but it could happen.
In the past several years, the Health Science Center has been closed twice due to icy conditions. And last year, a major water pipe break caused a campus closure.
On those occasions when health or safety is a concern, it is better to remain at home until it is safe to come to work or school.
This is where HSC Alert can help. HSC Alert is the Health Science Centerís text and e-mail notification system for emergencies and campus closures.HSC Alert test scheduled for Friday, Oct. 19
