Even though temperatures are beginning to drop and there was significant rain over the weekend, it still seems hard to imagine that the UT Health Science Center could be closed due to snow or ice over the winter — but it could happen.

In the past several years, the Health Science Center has been closed twice due to icy conditions. And last year, a major water pipe break caused a campus closure.

On those occasions when health or safety is a concern, it is better to remain at home until it is safe to come to work or school.

This is where HSC Alert can help. HSC Alert is the Health Science Center’s text and e-mail notification system for emergencies and campus closures.

HSC Alert test scheduled for Friday, Oct. 19
If you have not yet signed up to receive HSC Alert messages, please follow these instructions to enroll in the HSC Alert system before the test date, Friday, Oct. 19.

If you have already enrolled, the instructions can help you verify that your current cell phone numbers and alternate e-mail address are in the system.

If you need assistance with the sign-up process, please contact the IMS Service Desk at 7-7777.
