By Rosanne FohnForty-eight faculty members from the UT Health Science Center San Antonio were honored at a reception Nov. 7 for earning a promotion or tenure.
“Congratulations on your exceptional achievements which have earned you promotion, tenure or the prestigious title of professor emeritus. Through your efforts you elevate our university as a beacon of hope for the sick, a stimulating environment for our students and residents, and an exciting center for research and the advancement of patient care,” said President
ad interim Kenneth L. Kalkwarf, D.D.S., M.S.
“As you all well know, there is much that goes into each promotion packet. Each chair or division head’s office, each deans office, and of course the individual faculty member spends many hours preparing and processing these important packets. The process is rigorous and only the best are promoted and receive tenure,” he added.
Dr. Kalkwarf thanked
Archie Jones, D.D.S., professor of periodontics, who served as chair the Faculty Promotions, Tenure and Appointments Committee, as well as the committee members for the significant time commitment involved in the annual promotion and tenure review process.
