Physical therapy faculty, students go the extra mileOn February 14, the San Antonio Chapter of the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) sponsored San Antonio’s first Great “Walk and Roll” which was held at Crossroads Mall. Despite winter weather, students and faculty from the Health Science Center’s School of Allied Health Sciences, department of physical therapy, arrived early for the mile walk and the students led an exercise session prior to the walk. They successfully raised more than $1,600 for the MDA Summer Camp program, located between Waco and Temple, and were able to join the $1,000 Club. The MDA Summer Camp allows children with all types of muscular dystrophy to participate in swimming, sporting events and arts and crafts. The walk raised more than $44,000.
