Senior clinical laboratory sciences students from the Health Science Center recently won the Academic Student Bowl sponsored by the Texas Association for Clinical Laboratory Sciences.
Randy Cunningham, Darrell Drouillard, Epp Goodwin, Stephanie Frazee and alternate Lora Judge competed for the title at the Hilton Westchase Hotel in Houston with teams from throughout Texas. They won a double-elimination, round-robin tournament with a finals victory over Methodist Hospital in Houston, a perennial powerhouse.
“We were really proud of them because they were undefeated, including the finals,” said Shirlyn McKenzie, Ph.D., professor and chair of clinical laboratory sciences.
