Thomas Patterson, M.D., professor of medicine and chief of infectious diseases in the School of Medicine at The University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio, is available for interviews about the fungal meningitis outbreak that has killed 24 persons and infected 317 in 17 states. On Oct. 19 the New England Journal of Medicine published a review article by Dr. Patterson and two co-authors describing the infection, the outbreak and its ramifications.
