In partnership with military medicine, faculty researchers will expand investigations to engineer new body tissues to cure diseases such as cancer, diabetes, arthritis, congestive heart failure, spinal cord injuries, Alzheimer’s diseases, and to re-grow parts of the human body such as limbs or organs.

With the help of a few brave wounded warriors, Steven Wolf, M.D., of the UT Health Science Center San Antonio, is helping put the pieces back together for those who have lost limbs, whether to war or disease, by literally, regrowing the missing parts.
