Welcome to the MedEd website. We hope you'll explore our site and the many opportunities MedEd and the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio (UTHSCSA) have to offer.

In 1996, UTHSCSA's South Texas Border Initiative (STBI) created South Texas' leading and most comprehensive health careers opportunities program — MedEd. Working together with communities and schools, health care facilities and institutions of higher learning, MedEd participants are provided with year-round opportunities to pursue their goal of a career in the healthcare professions.

The very dedicated MedEd administration and staff work enthusiastically to provide our students with guidance in planning and preparing for admission into medical, dental, and nursing school, as well as the school of allied health sciences, pharmacy, public health, graduate school for biomedical sciences, and veterinary medicine.

Although YOU are the primary source for your own success, our program will help you define a plan that will lead you to a very satisfying future in health care.
