Research

Research interests:

My project focuses on understanding the immune responses to Mycoplasma pneumoniae CARDS toxin and the toxin’s impacts on asthma pathogenesis. Our lab demonstrated that CARDS toxin can induce asthma-like inflammation in naive mice and exacerbate an OVA model of allergic asthma. We are currently evaluating the immune responses in the pulmonary compartment associated with CARDS toxin by testing Th2 signaling pathways and T-cell responses. Additionally, we are testing eosinophil responses and their role in CARDS toxin-associated pathology.
