December 2002 The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation named Robert Ferrer, M.D., M.P.H., a Generalist Physician Faculty Scholar. Dr. Ferrer is an assistant professor in the department of family and community medicine and one of 15 recipients of this year’s award. The four-year, $297,000 grant will fund Dr. Ferrer’s research into the mechanisms of socio-economic health disparities. "Our analysis will focus on identifying the pathway from socio-economic level through psychological stress to indicators of physiological wear and tear," Dr. Ferrer said.
