February 2003 The Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) has appointed David Hussey, M.D., as chairman of the board for 2003. Dr. Hussey will serve a one-year term as chairman before becoming president-elect of the organization. Dr. Hussey is a clinical professor in the department of radiation oncology and a nationally renowned radiation oncologist. In addition to carrying out the RSNA’s annual agenda, he said he hopes to boost regional membership. "Participation and attendance is more from the United States and Canada than the other North American countries. Therefore, I would like to increase participation from radiologists in Mexico and the Caribbean countries," Dr. Hussey said. The RSNA primarily serves as a research and educational organization, granting approximately $3 million in research funds annually. The society boasts 32,000 members and hosts the largest medical meeting in the world each year.
