Endowment, health center The photo will hang in the patient waiting room of the newly named Leonard G. Paul Family Health Center. The center is at the University Physicians Group Diagnostic Pavilion. Several of Dr. Paul’s family members and former students were on hand for the special announcements, including Eduardo Sanchez, M.D., M.P.H., the Texas commissioner of health. Dr. Sanchez referred to Dr. Paul as a remarkable mentor and a hero. "His ability to be a big-picture person as a department leader and a small-picture person working one on one with patients makes him a great role model," Dr. Sanchez said. Dr. Paul is chairman emeritus of the department of family and community medicine. He served as professor and chairman of family and community medicine from 1982 to 1994 and was professor and chairman emeritus for almost 10 years.
