Dean of the School of Nursing

Robin Froman, Ph.D., began duties Jan. 5 as the newly appointed dean of the School of Nursing. Dr. Froman comes from The University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston (UTMB), where she was a professor and director of the office for nursing research and scholarship. She holds a master of science degree in nursing, a master of arts degree in educational psychology and a doctorate in educational psychology from The University of Connecticut.

Mary Moore, M.A., Ph.D.
Director of Libraries

Dr. Mary Moore, head of reference and customer services at the National Library of Medicine (NLM) in Bethesda, Md., began her duties as the new director of libraries Nov. 1. In her role at the NLM, she supervised a staff of reference librarians accustomed to answering more than 100,000 health care questions each year and responsible for contributing to the content of MedlinePlus, a consumer health database that has been called "the gold standard for medical information on the Web." Dr. Moore has researched and published about information-seeking behavior, the use of telemedicine and the future of the library.

Bruce J. Nicholson, Ph.D.
Chair of the Department of Biochemistry

Bruce J. Nicholson, Ph.D., has been appointed chair of the Department of Biochemistry. He will begin his duties March 1. Dr. Nicholson comes from The University of Buffalo State University of New York (SUNY), where he served as a faculty member since 1986. He has received many awards and honors throughout his career, including being named one of the 100 Best-Funded Faculty members at The University of Buffalo, SUNY.
