The Hispanic Dental Association has awarded Dr. Balderas its prestigious National President’s Award for community service. The President’s Award is granted to individuals who have excelled in their efforts to improve the oral health of the community. For more than 15 years, Dr. Balderas has worked with dental students in a mobile unit to provide care to children of migrant farmworking families, many
of whom are Hispanic.

Scott Johnson, M.D.

Dr. Johnson has been appointed by Gov. Rick Perry to the Texas State Board of Examiners of Perfusionists. The board licenses and regulates approximately 300 perfusionists in Texas.

Dr. Miller was inducted into the San Antonio Women’s Celebration and Hall of Fame. She was selected for her outstanding contributions in the category of health professions.
