August 2011 The Laredo City Council approved the donation of 3.9 acres of land to The University of Texas System Board of Regents. The land, which is located at the Laredo International Airport, will be used for the public purpose of establishing and operating, with the UT Health Science Center, a Veterans Administration Outpatient Medical Clinic. The Health Science Center will use part of the building to augment opportunities for health professional education, graduate medical education and clinical research. The building is expected to have about 16,800 square feet of usable space.
