Mission

AUTHOR! AUTHOR!

A rare breed of faculty authors abounds at the Health Science Center, where more than 50 current faculty have authored textbooks available in the university bookstore and used around the world.

For example, School of Nursing authors Lynn Keegan, PhD; Adrianne D. Linton, PhD; Mary Ann Matteson, PhD; and Shirley W. Menard, PhD, have "written the book" on healing nutrition, nursing care for adults, gerontological nursing and clinical nursing, respectively. Dr. Linton is interim chair of chronic nursing care, while Dr. Matteson is holder of the T & J Crow Professorship in the same department. Dr. Keegan is associate professor of acute nursing care, and Dr. Menard is associate professor of family nursing care.

Other authors include allied health, medical, dental and graduate school faculty, published on topics ranging from Lyme disease and treatment of gunshot wounds to fungi, pain therapy and free radicals' role in aging.
