Delivering dental care in South Texas
Students in the Dental School, through the department of community dentistry, and in the School of Allied Health Sciences, through the department of dental hygiene, use one of two mobile dental clinics to travel to underserved areas of San Antonio and South Texas and deliver care. Billy E. Rigsby, DDS, director of predoctoral clinics/dental outpatient clinic, coordinates the mobile dental clinic outreach programs which have been in operation since 1988.
