The illustration on the left is of a normal shoulder. The center illustration depicts
an
arthritic shoulder joint. The right illustration shows a shoulder dislocation similar to that
suffered
by Fran Tarkenton. Health Science Center medical illustrator Nancy Place
worked with
Charles A. Rockwood Jr., MD, during the development of the
GlobalTM Total
Shoulder Prosthesis System. She provided illustrations for the
physician's teaching manual and
for the exercise booklet that is given to
prosthesis patients.
