As Maria Bolaņos of Laredo peers into a remote imaging system, an image of her retina is captured digitally by Robert Hobson, department of ophthalmology. Hobson, using the system's Canon 60UVI Fundus camera, soon sent several images of Bolaņos' retina to San Antonio for examination by a retina specialist there.
