Thank you for your interest in the Neurology Residency Program at The University of Texas Health Science Center School of Medicine. We offer an accredited program with educational excellence and exposure to all aspects of neurologic care and research.

We offer two or three neurology residency positions per year (for a total of 8 residents). The residency is a three year program with a paired Internship/PGY-1 year in Internal Medicine that can be requested through the National Residency Match Program (NRMP) http://www.nrmp.org. We accept applications from the ERAS application service only. Information is on their website http://www.aamc.org/audienceeras.htm. We encourage applicants to pursue their first year of training at UTHSCSA. An interview with the Department of Medicine is scheduled during your visit to the Department of Neurology.

International medical graduates must hold a J-1 visa or have resident alien status and they must have a valid ECFMG certificate. In addition, it is preferable that international medical graduates have some amount of clinical medical experience in the United States or Canada.
