Urogynecologist

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio is seeking a full-time urogynecologist.

 

The Candidate must have completed an accredited Obstetrics and Gynecology residency in a University Program and received advanced training in female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery. Candidates must be able to successfully obtain a Texas Medical License. Academic rank and salary will be based on experience and curriculum vitae. A comprehensive fringe benefit package is available.

 

Responsibilities include the management and direction of clinical practice related to all aspects of pelvic floor disorders, education of residents, interns and medical students and the ability to carry out independent research.

 

 

Assistant/Associate Professor-Research
Systems Biology and/or Molecular Biology approaches to Developmental Programming

 

Applications are invited for a Research Assistant/Associate Professor Position in the Center for Pregnancy and Newborn Research in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, Texas. The successful candidate will have three or more years of postdoctoral research experience and will be expected to participate in research addressing developmental programming from a systems physiology and/or molecular approach. The successful candidate will possess either an MD, PhD or DVM degree. Candidates at the Assistant Professor level must have a publication record with potential for attracting extramural funding: candidates at the Associate Professor level must have a strong record of successful extramural funding. Experience in molecular biology, is desirable.

 

 

Post-doctoral Fellowships

 

NIH funded postdoctoral positions are available in the laboratories of Dr. Rajeshwar Rao Tekmal, Professor and Dr. Ratna Vadlamudi, Associate Professor, Reproductive Research Division, in the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. Interested individuals would study Estrogen Receptor signaling in breast and ovarian cancer using in vitro and in vivo transgenic mice models. Highly motivated candidates with training in molecular or cell biology and/or transgenic mouse models is desired.

 

 

Post-doctoral Fellowship

 

NIH funded postdoctoral position is available in the laboratories of Dr. Thomas Jansson and Dr. Theresa Powell in the Center for Pregnancy and Newborn Research in the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. The postdoctoral fellow will pursue studies in pregnant women, a number of in vitro models of human placenta as well as in animal models. These studies focus on identifying factors that regulate placental transporters and define the role of the placenta in regulating fetal growth and programming the fetus for diseases later in live. Methods employed include molecular and physiological approaches.

 

 

Gynecologic Oncologist

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Gynecologic Oncologist.

 

Academic rank and salary will be based on experience and curriculum vitae.  Clinical activities involve a large and growing population base. Clinical and/or basic science investigation opportunities are available.  Collaborations are ongoing with our two NIH-funded basic scientists working in the areas of cervical and ovarian cancer. In addition, we participate in the NIH-funded Patient Navigator Research Program which assesses whether navigators can improve outcomes in women with breast and cervical cancer.

 

 

Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility Specialist

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Reproductive Endocrinologist.  The Candidate must have completed an accredited Obstetrics and Gynecology residency in a University Program, and an accredited Fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility.  Duties will include the clinical care of infertile couples, teaching of residents and fellows, and the ability to carry out independent laboratory research in Reproductive Biology.

 

 

Maternal Fetal Medicine Specialist

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is seeking a Maternal-Fetal Medicine Specialist. The MFM Division provides comprehensive obstetrical care, perinatal consultations and outreach, genetic counseling, and prenatal diagnosis for San Antonio and our primary referral basis of South Texas.  We have a fully accredited MFM fellowship dedicated to educating the next generation of academic MFM physicians. We are one of five sites of the NICHD-funded Stillbirth Collaborative Research Network, and we have NIH-funded research programs regarding preterm birth, parturition, fetal programming, and diabetes. This position provides an excellent opportunity for new clinical and basic research, as well as the development of new clinical care programs.

 

Responsibilities include care of inpatient and outpatient obstetric patients; education of medical students, residents, and fellows; and participation in the Division’s research mission.

 

The position requires Board certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology and in Maternal-Fetal Medicine, qualifications for a Texas Medical License, and experience in academic medicine with a commitment to clinical service, education, and research. Successful applicants will also have excellent interpersonal, administrative, and leadership skills. Academic rank and salary will be based on experience, qualifications and academic accomplishments.
