Pediatrics continuing medical education course set for June 2-4

The Health Science Center's Continuing Medical Education Office is offering "Pediatrics for the Practitioner" June 2-4 at the Omni San Antonio Hotel. The course is equivalent to one American Medical Association credit for a total of 15 hours.

Summer dental course offered

The Health Science Center is co-sponsoring a summer course on "Treating the Elderly Dental Patient" from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. June 5-9. The course is designed for dental professionals to develop dental programs for nursing homes and to update skills in treating the elderly.

Topics will include the physiology of aging, long-term care, rehabilitation, nutrition, dementia and mental health, among others. The course will feature multidisciplinary didactic seminars and clinical experience in a long-term care facility. Presenters include Drs. Michele Saunders, Eleonore Paunovich, Chih-ko Yeh and Carolyn Marshall, dental diagnostic science, and Dr. Thomas Marshall, restorative dentistry.
