Ellen Todd Hanks, senior information services librarian, and Evelyn R. Olivier, deputy library director, have been re-certified at the distinguished level by the Academy of Health Information Professionals. Melissa DeSantis, microcomputer services librarian, has been certified at the senior level by the academy.

The Academy of Health Information Professionals is the professional development and career recognition program of the Medical Library Association. Other Briscoe Library staff members who belong to the academy are Dr. Virginia Bowden, Anne Comeaux, Janna Lawrence, Linda Levy and Rajia Tobia.
