BCMS Alliance supports Medical School students

(L-R) Edwina Youngblood, Bexar County Medical Society (BCMS) Alliance president-elect; Tracy Vardiman, American Medical Association (AMA) Foundation chairwoman; and Louise Chumley, BCMS Alliance president, present two checks totaling more than $2,200 to Dr. Francisco G. Cigarroa, Health Science Center president, and Dr. Steven A. Wartman, vice president for academic and health affairs and dean of the Medical School. The funds were raised through the AMA Foundation committee's annual "Holiday Sharing Card." Support from the BCMS Alliance and other Texas medical alliances makes donations to Texas medical schools possible each year. The money will be used for the Medical School Excellence Fund and for student scholarships and loan programs.
