Faculty, staff art exhibition set for Aug. 22
Did you know that you or one of
your co-workers could be a
painter, sculptor or photographer?
You could be sharing an office
with the next Vincent van Gogh
or Annie Lebowitz. Discover
your talents or those of your
co-workers during the Artistic
Expressions art show,
showcasing artistic creations by
the Health Science Center's own
faculty and staff. The event will
take place from 5 to 7 p.m.
Wednesday, Aug. 22, in the
auditorium foyer. Tickets, which
are on sale, are $10 and can be
purchased in the office of public
affairs, room 306L, or in the
office of external affairs, room
301L. Cash, checks or credit
cards will be accepted.
Enjoy creative works from more
than 50 Health Science Center
faculty and staff members in
more than 34 departments and
divisions. Attendees will enjoy
piano music performed by Dr.
Toni P. Miles, family and
community medicine, and Dr.
Steven A. Wartman, dean of the
Medical School and executive
vice president of academic and
health affairs. Delicious wines
provided by Becker Vineyards
and cheeses provided by Sun
Harvest Farms will be available.
A door prize, provided by Kurt
Youngblood Art & Framing, will
be given away.
Proceeds from the event will go
to the newly formed Student
Catastrophic Aid Fund. The fund
will provide assistance to students
with special financial or medical
needs.
