"EXPO 2001: e-University: A New Frontier at the UTHSC" will take place from 3 to 6 p.m. Feb. 28 and from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 1. The Briscoe Library and information management and services are sponsors of the event. Regional and national experts will give presentations in the areas of e-Access, e-Health care, e-Learning, e-Publishing and e-Research. The event kicks off Feb. 28 with a presentation by Dr. Hal Berghel, professor and chair of the department of computer science at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. He will discuss "A 'Futurist' Perspective on e-Health care, Education and Technology." On March 1, more than 20 speakers will be featured including Dr. Terry Fotré, president and chief scientist of MEDePass; Dr. Darcy Hardy, director of the U. T. TeleCampus; Wayne Wedermeyer, U. T. System office of telecommunication service; Dr. Thomas H. Lee, chief medical officer and director of product development, Epocrates.com; and Jeff Redding, MDConsult.
