Employee feedback requested by ADA coordinating committee

The Health Science Center's Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) coordinating committee needs your help. The members are working to make the campus more user-friendly and pleasant for people with disabilities as well as for people pushing luggage or mail carts or other large wheeled devices. The committee is planning a needs assessment of the campus and would appreciate feedback from faculty, staff and students.

Please take a moment to answer the following questions and send your responses to the equal employment opportunities/affirmative action office in Room 101F in the School of Medicine, or send them to Dr. Bonnie Blankmeyer, chair of the committee, at blankmeyer@uthscsa.edu. Additional comments are welcome.

1. Describe any barriers or difficulties you have personally experienced or have observed people with disabilities encounter as they try to get around campus buildings, grounds and parking areas.
2. How do you think the UTHSC buildings and grounds could be modified to make them more user-friendly and pleasant for individuals with disabilities? Consider areas devoted to work, study, lunch and recreation.
3. What other topics do you think the Health Science Center's ADA coordinating committee should consider when working to improve the campus for people with disabilities?
