My educational background took place at the United States Military Academy at West Point and the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine. My hospital training comprised an internship at Walter Reed Army Medical Center and a residency at Brooke Army Medical Center here in San Antonio. Currently I have joint appointments in the Orthopaedics Department and the Audie L. Murphy Veterans Hospital, where I serve as Chief of the Orthopaedic Surgery Service. I am an active member of the Academic Partnership Committee, University Hospital Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee, and the University Hospital Drug Utilization Committee. My current research projects are: 1) antifungal elution in PMMA, 2) mechanical properties of PMMA containing antifungals, and 3) accuracy of femoral IM guides in knee arthroplasty.
